A Perfect Cause -- To End Needless Suffering and Preventable Deaths Print E-mail

As a grassroots organization, A Perfect Cause is dedicated to long-term care reform. While we are initially focusing our resources on the nation's nursing home crisis, we are committed to providing information and resources for the continuum of long-term care - from successful aging, to aging in the home, to assisted living, to hospice care, as well as nursing home care.

At a recent long-term care insurance workshop, we learned you have a 1 in 3 chance to be a nursing home resident. Combined with nursing home death rate of 12% for the five leading causes of preventable death, you have a 1 in 36 chance of becoming a nursing home victim.

With a national crisis claiming nursing home resident every 15 minutes, we must have a goal and a plan.

We do! We have a powerful mission statement, ambitious objectives, and have developed a model that will help us fulfill our mission.

If you need help, please call or send us an email. If you can help us, we can use it.

As a grassroots organization, we can use any contributions. Funds, in-kind products, services, time, and prayers. All are needed to help us achieve our objectives.

While it may be a fact that we have a crisis, the truth is we can do something about it. As Dr. Ernest Holmes wrote, "A Perfect Cause must produce a perfect effect."

And so it is!

Predators in Nursing Homes

We began researching the issue of Predators in America's Nursing Homes and other long-term care facilities in 2004. The results of our efforts are stunning. Sadly, needless suffering and preventable deaths of citizens in term care facilities continue.

To date, we have located approximately 1,600 registered sex offenders living in long-term care facilities across America.
