The First Annual Psych Central Conference will be held at the UMass Lowell Inn & Conference Center, located in downtown Lowell, Massachusetts.
The 2-day conference will highlight mental health, mindfulness, stress-relief, psychology and other self-help topics from a wealth of knowledgeable speakers from around the country. Workshops will be available in multiple tracks throughout both days, along with plenary sessions, keynote speakers and a dinner.

The conference dates are Monday, June 3, 2013 and Tuesday, June 4, 2013.
Registration will open in January 2013, while the call for presentations will begin in December 2012.

This is a University of Wisconsin-Madison sponsored short course on human factors engineering and patient safety. This short course is designed to provide an understanding of human factors and systems engineering and how this approach to patient safety can improve system performance and safety, prevent harm when error does occur, help systems recover from error and mitigate further harm. In addition to didactic lectures, the course is organized with active participation, allowing for participants to apply HFE concepts and techniques.
The educational activity is designed for all physicians, physician assistants, nurses, information technologists, research scientists, quality improvement specialists, pharmacists, CEOs, middle and upper managers, engineers, risk management professionals, infection control professionals, patient safety officers, and other professionals interested in human factors engineering and patient safety.

Preventing Overdiagnosis
Winding back the harms of too much medicine
The Preventing Overdiagnosis conference will take place on 10-12 September 2013 in the United States, hosted by The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice, in partnership with one of the world’s most respected medical journals, the BMJ, the leading New-York based consumer organisation Consumer Reports, and Bond University.
A call for abstracts was issued in November 2012, the deadline for submission is March 15, with decisions announced in April. A draft program appears here, and the abstract submission form can be downloaded here.
